Notes: Leaves made into a ball and used to play 'shooting the yucca.' 'Shooting the yucca' was a Navajo game played with a ball made of bark and wound with yucca leaves which had been previously placed in hot ashes to make them flexible. A stick of scrub oak was attached to this by a yucca cord, to give momentum to the light ball. The ball was thrown into the air and the archers discharged their arrows at it as soon as it was drawn downward by the weight of the stick.
